THE STORY BEHIND
In 2009 I got married. Creating wedding rings was a dream come true, and transforming the aluminium knot sculptures into jewelry was my third eureka moment.
Innovative ring series, to commemorate tying the knot, was created to replicate the fluidity and curves of the knot sculptures which resulted in the exhibition: 2010 Knot Sci-fi Rings.
RING DETAILS
Designed and handcrafted to a 0.5 mm precision, Astrea 003 runs along smooth, fluid curves in a futuristic overall style, that have never been seen before.
Tens of prototype iterations led to the development of Astria 003, a fluidity algorithm developed specifically for this purpose.
An ancient Celtic wedding tradition known as 'Handfasting' is believed to have inspired the phrase "Tying the Knot", which involves two willing suitors fastening their hands together by using knots of cloth, symbolizing the binding of love for millennia.
